Welcome

My years as a mobile veterinarian have been an unforgettable time in which I have felt that I was able to whole heartedly serve those in my community in a way that I could have never done in a traditional clinic facility. I realize that while the mobile practice held several limitations (no radiography, boarding or hospitalization), it allowed me to function on an even more personal level with many for which I am most grateful. A hearty THANK YOU for having enough faith to take a chance in our services over the years.

In 2018, I was offered a position where I could help the needful stray dogs brought in to the local municipal shelter for care and safety, as well as being provided some much desired support from animal health colleagues. At that time, Mt. Hood Mobile Veterinary Clinic was formally reorganized to make IN-HOME EUTHANASIA and TRANSPORTATION FOR CREMATION SERVICES the priority.

It has always been a priority to me that a pet’s last moments can be in his/her home, surrounded by family without the fear, pain and/or confusion commonly associated with having to be loaded and driven to a veterinary facility. It is also an extremely tough time for the family and having the ability to grieve in one’s own space is monumental.

Please reach out in whatever form of communication you most prefer (call, text and/or email) with any questions you may have or to schedule an in-home euthanasia visit. The ultimate goal is for your pet (and family) to be as calm and comfortable as possible through the entire process. Thank you for your consideration. If you have come to this page in lieu of an impending loss within the family, my heart goes out to you..

With kindest regards,

Melissa A. Robert, D.V.M

About Me

Melissa A. (Adams) Robert, D.V.M.

Dr. Robert completed her undergraduate studies at McKendree College (now McKendree University) in Lebanon, IL where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Minor in Chemistry before going on to complete the Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2007. After graduating, she accepted a position as Associate Veterinarian at the Animal Clinic of Lawrenceville in Southern Illinois where she served the surrounding communities for 6 years before starting the Wabash Valley Mobile Veterinary Clinic. After seeing how far many dedicated clients would drive to seek out quality veterinary care in the region, it was quickly apparent to her that there was a definite need for more readily available services. She was eager to see the mobile clinic function in a similar fashion in the Mt. Hood region after her move to be closer to certain family members (you know who you are!) and has always valued the opportunities to make lasting and meaningful relationships with her clients and colleagues.

She accepted a position as staff veterinarian with Clackamas County Dog Services in May 2018, but continues to provide in home euthanasia services for those in the region. Dr. Robert has a strong interest in preventative medicine and surgery. She has been a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) since graduation, has been involved with visiting local grade schools and serving as judge in library-sponsored pet shows (loves seeing the excitement vet med instills in the youth). During her spare time, Dr. Robert enjoys her travels and time spent with loved ones, tending to her ‘herd’ of dogs, step-kids, chickens and horses, seeking out new eateries and getting out in the woods and mountains as much as time will allow.
